Udvartana is an invigorating and cleansing powder massage. Dry herbal powders or herbal paste prepared with medicated oils are used in this herbal powder massage
to scrub, exfoliate, rejuvenate the skin, and to prevent skin diseases. Udvartana stimulates the skin, leaving you with radiant, toned and cleansed skin.
The skin is cleansed and specific dosha skin body oils with aroma-therapeutic essential oils are personalized to restore balance.
Pristhabhyanga is focused on the spine region. Back muscles are relaxed and tension relieved. It alleviates neck and back pain, stimulates energy centres, calms and strengthens the nervous system, and promotes the flow of vital energy throughout the body by using dosha specific warm Ayurvedic herbalised medicated oils. Posture is improved, stress-related tension and blockages targeted and the benefits have regenerating effect on the spine addressing issues in the cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral regions. Massage techniques including marma points to these areas are included.
Students will learn about the various powders, pastes, oils and essential oils for use on specific doshas, and the benefits of natural plant based ingredients to enhance the therapeutic quality of the back massage.
